"KLTA's 1st 3 days collection for Tamil Nadu theatrical is Rs.6,80,65,560 and distributor share is Rs.3,75,98,768," tweeted Udhayanidhi Stalin, distributor of the film, which was released on 200 screens.
Directed by K.S. Manikandan, KLTA, starring Santhanam, Srinivasan, Sethu and Vishakha Singh in lead roles, released worldwide on January 13.
An out-and-out comedy entertainer, the film is the story of three men who try to woo the same girl. It was jointly produced by Santhanam and Rama Narayan.
Buoyed by the response to the film, the distributor is planning to take the film to more screens from Friday.
"From Friday (January 18) shifting the film to bigger screens," he tweeted.
The cameo appearances by Silambarasan Rajendar aka Simbu helped attract more audience to the cinemas.
"Simbu's cameo also helped the film to great extent. His star status attracted all his fans to flock the theatres to watch the film first-day-first-show," Trade analyst, Trinath said.
