Fans of Channel [V]’s popular show Gumrah (A Lost Boy Productions and Balaji Telefilms) have been rejoicing with the promo of the next season hitting the TV screens. But what surprised them was the conspicuous absence of the host of the show Karan Kundra. As one sees, the ultra glamourous Chitrangada Singh promotes the show’s third season, which will start off from next month.
Wait a minute!! Before you fans of Karan jump to any conclusion, we give you the facts right here.
We at called up the maker of the show Vikas Gupta who said he was happy with the response the promo has been receiving. Talking about Karan’s absence, Vikas tells us, “Karan is the face of Gumrah, and the show will be incomplete without him. He was busy with his film’s shoot in Punjab, and this is why we decided to shoot the first promo without him. We have already shot the second promo with him, which will soon be on-air, as per the dates finalized by the channel.”
The show on Channel V about youth and their tryst with crimes had gained popularity with its content and style of execution in the previous seasons. And with the inclusion of the Bollywood siren Chitrangada this time, it is surely going to rake in more interest.
Vikas who is excited to have Chitrangada on board says, “It is indeed a privilege to have her in Gumrah. The important part is that she is here purely for the show, and not for any promotional activity.”
Asked about reports of Anita Hassanandani donning the hat of the co-host, the producer says “We are still working out her dates.”
Chitragandha will be seen in the first episode of the show, along with Karan. The show kicks off from 7 July 2013.
